The Mk1 surface mounted gas meter box was designed to hook over the backplate. Where there is not a suitable backplate but the dimensions of the cover are appropriate, it may be hooked over a suitable device eg. baton, that can be fixed to the wall. Service entry holes are situated at the
bottom left-hand side however the box may be sawn if holes are required
in other places.
