The Hitachi G18DSL/JL is a 115mm (4.5in) high torque angle grinder with slimline grip for comfortable use. The gear cover is low in height to allow the grinder to be used in confined areas, and the side handle can be attached for either left or right handed use.
The grinder has external brush caps to make the replacement of carbon brushes quick and easy. An elastomer covered handle gives a comfortable and secure grip at all times. A safety circuit ensures that the grinder will not accidentally start if a battery is inserted while the switch is turned on. A handy battery level indicator shows how much charge is left in the battery; two lights means the battery is charged, one light means half charge and no lights means you should recharge the battery.
The lightweight slide-in style Lithium-Ion batteries hold their charge for longer, which means there is no discernible loss of performance throughout the battery charge. The batteries also contain unique protection circuitry to prevent damage from overloading, overcharging and high discharging; this gives Hitachi Lithium-Ion batteries up to 260% longer service life than similar batteries.
